People often say that once you catch the "pageant bug" you're in it for life!  They weren't lying!
I burst into the pageant scene back in 2014, when I entered my very first competition on a whim.  I was scrolling through Twitter and noticed an ad looking for women who were over a UK size 14 to compete in a national pageant.  In a rare "YOLO" moment, I entered, thinking I had zero chance of being selected.  You can imagine my shock when this little ole newbie took home the crown of Ms British Beauty Curve 2015/16.
After a rollercoaster of a reigning year, I was itching to get back on stage again. I entered United Kingdom Galaxy Pageants in early 2017, where I placed in the Top 10. I represented England later in the year at Miss International Curve and proudly was crowned the first ever Ms International Curve 2017/18.

I had always looked at Miss Great Britain as a system that I could never be part of simply because the Miss category was capped at 27 years old.  Being 36 (at the time) I had pretty much written off any chance of me gracing that stage. When the directors announced that for their 75th Anniversary they were opening a brand new "Ms" category for women over 28 years old, I couldn't pass up that opportunity, I had to enter!

In February 2021, I placed within the top 3; Ms Great Britain 2nd Runner Up (that's 3rd place for you non-pageant folk)  I quickly got to work promoting that title full of pride and accomplishment. It was a moment in history for a woman of both my colour and my size to place so high in this pageant and to do it in such an iconic year was pretty special!

You should know that I don't often give up on a dream until I achieve it so with the very kind help of my sponsors; Ridge Radio UK, I returned to the Miss Great Britain stage in September 2021. This time I took home the crown!  Standing proudly as your Ms Great Britain 2021/22; the very first plus size woman of colour to take home a Miss Great Britain title in the competition's 76 year history!

In 2017 I launched "The Yes I Can Initiative"

A collaborative campaign comprised of many projects designed to challenge negative stereotypes, misconceptions and assumptions and break down the stigma surrounding them.  I strive to forge a community of like-minded individuals carving a different future for all.

Where all people feel represented, heard and seen in society today.

I am a firm believer in the law of attraction and that just like Napoleon Hill once said; “What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve" I believe that I believe that every single one of us is capable of achieving success in life.

I also believe that each of us is heavily influenced by society's pre-conceived ideals. So many of us suffer with mental health issues, a phenomenon like "imposter syndrome" can hold back so many people from achieving true success in our fields. At some point in each of our lives, all of us have experienced a situation where you have been judged or had assumptions made about you or even been told that because of "x" you couldn't possibly do "y"

"The Yes I Can Initiative" is designed to prove society wrong.

I believe that equal representation of all shapes, sizes, races, abilities, genders and sexual orientations is vital for true diversity and inclusivity within the mainstream media. I have formed a campaign as a side arm of this initiative using hashtag #RepresentationMatters and I will continue to push for equality using my own voice to amplify the voices of the under-represented.

As an experienced pageant judge, mentor and public speaker, I am available for bookings for radio, press and pageant appearances.
